Coming up on July 27th is the classic Big Elk Honey Badger ride. This ride has become one of my favorites to do in summer as it’s up at elevation on the backside of Brown Mountain in the tall timber with lots of shade. It’s one of the more gentle routes when it comes to elevation gain and loss and percentages of gradient. Wit, what does that mean? It means that there isn’t much climbing and what climbing there is, isn’t very long or steep. There’s three route length options to choose from to suit just about anyone’s fitness level. Click HERE to go over to the ride schedule page for all the details and links to all the rides. You can click on the Big Elk ride to get the specifics on the routes or go directly there by clicking HERE .Just one more FYI, this is the first ride of the year that begins at 9am instead of 10am to get a earlier start and avoid the heat.
