Whiskey Springs Honey Badger

On August 17th, there’s another Honey Badger ride scheduled, the Whiskey Springs. it starts and finishes just outside the Whiskey Spring Campground on FS Rd 3605 (Parker Meadows Rd), situated just off of Butte Falls-Fish Lake Rd, nine miles north of Hwy 140. The ride leaves at 9am. Click here HERE for a link to how to get there via Google Maps. You can park along the road just outside of the campground or inside at the day use area. If you park outside on the road, please remember it is fire season and be mindful of hot exhausts on top of dry grasses.

There’s three lengths to choose from to match whatever level of ride you want to do. The routes are 23.6, 41.1, and 60.8 miles with 2403ft, 4139ft, and 5412ft of elevation gain respectively. Click HERE to go to the event page for all the RideWithGPS links to download the routes.

The ride is situated on the western flank of Mt McLaughlin and has lots of gentle climbs with cinder roads, a bit of old pavement, some prime dirt sections that are smooth, and even a creek to cool off in at the finish.. Classic gravel bike route. Nothing on it is very technical or rough. The route has plenty of places to refill your water bottles if you bring a filter, but please remember to filter as cattle is run up here in the summer time.
