Warning!! Do not park in the former town of Hilt or by the Church! the locals have gotten very testy and argumentative about people parking there. the area is all private property and they are worried about damage to the historical site and the potential of fire damage of a car’s exhaust starting a fire. Please park either where the Trestle Rd takes off from the Hilt Hungry Rd about 2.4 miles from the church or if you’re a small group and doing the Classic, or Long route where FS Rd 40S-06 meets Colstin Rd about 2.5 miles from Mt. Ashland Access Rd. All route links in RideWithGPS will be changed to reflect the new start points.
